 Dr.
Fry Performs His 20,000th Cataract Surgery
On
January 21 of 1993 Dr. Fry performed his 10,000th cataract surgery
with IOL implant. Dr. Fry had been in Garden City with his practice
for twelve years and the 10,000th surgery was an occasion for
celebration, and the entire office staff joined in making this
a special event.
Now,
after another seven years, Dr. Fry accomplished his 20,000th cataract
with IOL implant. The date was February 16 of the new century
and the patient was Mrs. Gloria  Claunch
of Walsh, Colorado. Mrs. Claunch had just been to the surgery
center on New Year's Eve for her right eye cataract, and now she
was back for the removal of the cataract in her left eye. Her
daughter and her grandson accompanied her on the trip.
To
honor Mrs. Claunch and to further indicate pride in successfully
doing this number of cataract surgeries, Dr. Fry presented Mrs.
Claunch with a flower arrangement which she would now be able
to see more clearly.
