Dr. Robert G. Fante - Oculoplastic Surgery
R
obert G. Fante, M.D., certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, completed his training in oculoplastic surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He had previously served as chief resident at the University of Arizona, where he completed his residency in ophthalmology. He graduated summa cum Laude from Boston University, which he attended as a National Merit Scholar, and also completed his internship at Boston University's affiliated Hospitals. While in college, DR. Fante spent a year studying art and architecture in Rome, Italy.

Dr. Fante has the distinction of being a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the Colorado Society of Facial Plastic Surgery and the Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He has received research funding from the National Institutes of Heath and has published research in the medical journals Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, and others. He is the author of numerous chapters in medical textbooks. He has given many national presentations on various aspects of oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Fante is the medical director of the eye disease section of the Colorado Healthnet website and has been recognized by the American medical Association's Physician's Recognition Award and the Preceptor of the Year Award From the University of Nebraska.

Dr. Fante has been on the faculty of the University of Nebraska and the University of Michigan and is presently a lecturer at the University of Colorado Medical School. Dr. Fante served for several years as chief ophthalmologist in the U.S. Air Force 55th Medical Group and was also a flight surgeon for the US Strategic Command. He has participated in international surgical mission in Honduras. He is married to a Colorado native and has two children.

Dr. Mark H. Scott - Children's Eye Care

Dr. Scott was born and raised in Visalia, California, a small farming community in the central San Joaquin Valley. He attended college at the University of California, San Diego, majoring in Physiology. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 1987. He completed a traditional internship at the University of Oklahoma followed by a three year residency in ophthalmology at the Dean A McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. He then moved to Washington, D.C., for a fellowship year of training in ophthalmic genetics at the National Institutes of Health, National Eye Institute.

Dr. Scott returned to Oklahoma in 1993 to join Dr. Richard at the Dean A McGee Institute, Section of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Eye Muscle Surgery. Dr. Scott was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and served as the director of residency education for the Department of Ophthalmology for two years. Two years ago he joined Dr. Richard and Dr. Randy Brown to form Children's Eye Care, PLLC and the Center for Adult Strabismus.

Dr. Scott is married to Denise, a Pediatrician and pediatric Endocrinologist in Oklahoma City. They have three children, Brian (eight), Brett (six), and Blaire (three). He spends his free time coaching various children's sports and leading his son's Cub Scout den.

Dr. Scott enjoys his monthly trips to Garden City as it reminds him of his home town in California. Dr. Scott says, "I am honored to be part of the high quality of care delivered by Dr. Fry and his associates in Southwest Kansas.
